Restorative yoga is mostly based on the teachings of Iyengar which in turn was based mostly on Hatha Yoga.

It is a gentle form of yoga that promotes relaxation and well being at its core rather than using yoga as a form of “getting fit” which has become more popular in many western forms of yoga.

Restorative yoga is particularly suitable for older practitioners and anyone recovering from an injury or illness.
